PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The construction of a new railway line between Dakar and Tambacounda is a relevant solution to meet the expectations of operators and users. Designed to bolster the transport offer on the route, it forms a high-speed line that will meet the mobility needs and demand of business sectors, particularly mining, reducing transport costs, a decisive factor in competitiveness. It will also form the backbone of an integrated logistics system optimizing the use and transfer between modes of transport, linking Dakar, the country’s main economic hub, to Tambacounda, a major city in the east of the country, which will act as a relay to serve the hubs, cities and production zones in the East and the South. A dry port will be built there and will have to play the role of a logistics center for the distribution and massification of flows.
