PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The REDD+ program aims to make Congo benefit from the FCPF Carbon Fund, which aims to support a few countries in the world through a financing system based on large-scale performance. This is measured through the REDD+ objectives: efforts to reduce deforestation and forest degradation, sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation and increase forest carbon stocks.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

  • Development of the inventory of forests
  • Preparation of future scenarios over 30 years for Preparation of 30-year future scenarios for sustainable development of the Sangha and Likouala departments, and assessment of their impacts
  • Proposal of strategic options and programs relating to future scenarios
  • Evaluation of the REDD+ potential for each future scenario
  • Analysis of the main risks and blocking points for the implementation of the proposed strategic options and programs
