PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The World Bank has initiated the preparation of a project to improve urban mobility and support inclusive economic development along the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lanes and the corresponding feeder lines. The project to set up a pilot “BUS RAPID TRANSIT” corridor in the city of Douala fits into this context.
It mainly involves a facade-to-facade treatment of 28.8 km of urban roads, including specific developments, bus feeder lines and other modes of transport, the installation of ticketing equipment, an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) as well as vertical and traffic light signalling and public lighting equipment.
