Technical assistance for the implementation of the Kandadji program - Phase 2

The Kandadji Program for Ecosystem Regeneration and Development of the Niger Valley (P-KRESMIN) has been adopted by the Council of Ministers of the Niger Basin Authority (NBA) as the strategic reference framework for the sustainable development of the Niger Basin. It is in line with the Economic and Social Development Plan (PDES 2017 – 2021) and the “3N” initiative (Nigerians Nourish Nigeriens).

• Support for the review and validation of environmental and social studies
• Monitoring the implementation of the overall ESMP
• Monitoring the application of mitigation measures proposed under the program
• Support for the development of agreements signed with external partners in the environmental and social field
• Contribution to the development of “Annual Work Programs and Budget” (PTBA) for ESMP activities
• Monitoring the execution of protection works environment and PGES projects
• Support for monitoring the implementation of activities aimed at conserving biodiversity
• Support for the implementation of all measures to support agro-sylvo-pastoral and fishing activities provided for in the PGES of the Program
• Support for informing and raising awareness among populations about the environment and climate change
• Gender mainstreaming in the environment and climate change management process
